The symptoms of cylinder knocking during operation of a diesel generator are: from medium to low speed, there will be a heavier cylinder knocking sound, the exhaust pipe of the diesel generator set emits black smoke, and there will be occasional gunfire or outward spray, resulting in overheating of the engine body. The main reasons for cylinder knocking are:

1. The fuel supply time is too early

When the piston of the diesel generator set moves upward before reaching the prescribed injection position, the fuel injector begins to inject oil, causing fuel combustion to advance. The high-pressure gas in the cylinder strikes the piston, producing a rhythmic "tap, tap" clear knocking sound. The knocking sound is obvious when the throttle is reduced.

 
(3) Poor cooling:Poor cooling will lead to excessive temperature of the cylinder, piston, poor lubrication; Poor cooling will cause the piston and cylinder liner to overheat and overexpand and deform, lose the original normal clearance and pull the cylinder. The reasons for poor cooling are: insufficient discharge pressure of the cooling water pump, insufficient or interrupted water supply; Rust or dirt in the cooling water cavity; The water contains bubbles, which accumulate in the cooling chamber and are not released and cause gas resistance; The water quality is too dirty and the water temperature is too high.(4) The piston ring does not work properly:The opening clearance is too small, so that the piston ring breaks; The gap between heaven and earth is too small, so that the piston ring is stuck; Too much carbon deposits, so that the piston rings stick to the ring groove and lose elasticity, causing fracture or gas leakage; The opening gap is too large or severely worn, and air leakage occurs. The leakage of gas destroys the lubricating oil film and makes the surface temperature too high.
